If you have the door to the cooled room closed and as air tight as possible, the adjacent room being warm is like the outside of the house being warm. Yes, there will be some unwanted heat transfer but there will still be a temperature differential. The best thing is to try it and see if it is cool enough for you and if the cost in power is worth it. As for your question about moisture, the answer is"it depends". A typical full house AC has no moisture connection between the cool side and the warm side. All water taken out of the cooled air goes into a drip tray and then a drain. The more modern window AC are designed so that the water from the drip tray can hit the condenser coils to help cool them off, improving their SEER.

Where do I connect the hose to recharge the AC?
The low pressure gauge or compound gauge is color coded blue and the high pressure gauges are color coded red. The AC gauge hoses are color coded in blue, yellow, and red. The AC gauge hoses port are not color coded, but the hose is color coded.
I don"t know how this will fare with cleaning, so I"m going to be careful.
Air Conditioning I"d wanted to put factory AC on this truck, so I was keeping an eye out for the right parts. First I found a mostly complete Deluxe Hi-Lo Heater system from a Bronco that I got cheap, and it"s got much of the same firewall pieces as the AC setup, so that was the start on the conversion and helped me avoid running any of the EFI wires where the AC unit would hopefully go in the future.
I eventually bought the shell of a F to get at the AC parts and the correct firewall hole so I could copy it onto my truck. I also got to snag a mostly complete AC setup from a F and take a number of photos of it as I was taking the pieces off so I could reference things later on. Reference Photos Bronco Below are a bunch of pictures of an AC setup on a Bronco - the guy who sold me the Deluxe Hi-Lo Heater setup had this truck around, but the AC system was already sold to someone else - but he was kind enough to let me take a bunch of pictures of the AC system.
The firewall, dash, and core support areas are all functionally identical to my F , so these pictures are a handy reference. Of particular note is the sheer size of the AC unit on the firewall, how close it comes to the passenger side of the motor, that the condenser mounts using the same bolts as the radiator, and the fact that there are 4 extra vents in the face of the dash for both the AC and Deluxe Hi-Lo Heater. Also, the controls are partially vacuum operated, so you need hoses for that and a vacuum canister in the system somewhere.

The shroud was on it"s last legs and split in two, but there and sort of functional. The heater hose hookups had to be modified to work with the AC setup and combine the Mustang bits as well. The Mustang heater hose pipes that run along the intake manifold will not be used for my EFI conversion on this truck. That left an open question on what to do with the EFI temp sensor, though, because on the Mustang it installs into the heater hard lines along the intake manifold.
What is critical is that the low pressure gauge is connected to the low pressure port by convention using a blue hose and the high pressure gauge is connected to the high pressure port by convention using a red hose.

Gauges are used to read the pressure of various liquids and gases in a cooling system, as well as vacuum pressure when you are pressure testing or charging the device. There are a number of different ports on the HVAC gauge set, also known as a manifold, and the main difference in the types of manifolds is the number of ports that you have available to attach accessories to, as well as the pressure that the gauge set can withstand, which is important when working with different refrigerants.
Step 1 Connect the high pressure side of the cooling line to the red port on the gauge. The red port and red gauge are always the high pressure gauges. You will want to attach a code-approved red hose, which is made to withstand high pressure, using the flare fittings that are included with it, to the high pressure port on the cooling unit. The high pressure port is typically of a different size and thread pitch than the low pressure side in order to avoid the potential for accidental incorrect hookups.

Every portable air conditioner needs an exhaust pipe to enable it to vent the hot air which it is removing from the room. Most units come with an exhaust hose which is designed to lead from the portable air conditioner to the window. Portable air conditioner units need to vent hot air; if the machine is not able to vent this air, they can break or run inefficiently.
Running a portable air conditioner without using an exhaust hose will cause the area behind the unit to get very hot — so instead of cooling, the room, you may end up increasing the heat. Well it only took me a month and a half, but geese what a job! I originally purchased a kzn halfcut from a company here in Southern California, after that I purchased this 4Runner with k miles on it with the notorious HG leaking in the 3VZ-E. After a lot of restoration and cleaning the 4Runner looks like it has been a garaged vehicle its whole life and is now one of the few here in the states. The new 1KZ-TE engine only has 78, miles on it so I will turn the mileage back to reflect the engine if the buyer wants.
The outside has been clayed and waxed, all the chrome polished, and every wheel has been reconditioned. The interior was in excellent shape when I purchased it minus the carpet. The carpet was replaced with a complete carpet set which makes the inside of the vehicle look amazing when you open the doors. I have kept the stock 4Runner floor mats but they aren"t in nearly as good as shape as they were when they were new, they do help to keep the carpet spotless while I test drive the vehicle for a couple of weeks.
There are no rips in any of the seats, and the two cracks in the top of the dash will be fixed in the next couple of days. I was a car dealership auto detailer and we had to always repair cigarette burns, tears in seats or carpet, stains, leather repairs, hard plastic repairs, deodorization, etc. So rest assured when the potential buyer comes to look at the vehicle, the inside will look brand new just like the exterior.

Met with Julien Castillo and showed him the condition the unit was delivered in and the body issues; he agreed that it looked like some sort of chemical damage to the body panels, he saw the dent and problem at the roof, saw and agreed that the repairs done by the body shop where the Paul Evert"s plates were mounted were terrible, visible, etc.
To start with you need to decide what unit you want. I found the unit offered by Vintage air fit the measurements under the dash best, and the were very helpful in answering all my questions. You will need a custom made mounting kit for the compressor, under the hood, you can make it your self, or Meyers Studebaker, makes this kit complete, ask for Mike. A universal Super condenser part vuz, a polished compressor, with rear discharge kit,parts sd , s P. To mount the condenser, you will have to fabricate two metal Z brackets, approximately 14" long, securing them with rubber grommets to your existing condenser frame in front of your radiator, this will need a little trimming to fit. I found the best route for the condenser hoses is, lower hose into the wheel well and up thru the flat area beside the super charger, the other thru the small area between the headlight and the radiator.
I mounted the filter dryer on the fender, close to the super charger. The next thing is to mount the compressor, remove the black overflow tank, save all parts you remove. Install the 90 degree thermostat housing furnished in the kit, at the same time remove the steel tube, with the heater hose attached, in place, install the bushing and 45 degree fitting furnished, this gets the heater hose low enough to go under, the newly installed compressor.
The compressor is installed with the adapters furnished just a little to the passenger side of the newly installed thermostat housing and as low as possible" clearance from the hood is critical" Us the 90 degree bracket furnished or make your own. This bracket attaches to the front middle valley pan bolt, with a washer, the other end attaches to the bottom right compressor hole, rear.
The top driver side, mounting holes get the steel tube spacer, and piece of flat bar, use the furnished nut bolt and washer here.
